Job Description

We are seeking skilled Gem and Diamond Workers to join our renowned team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience in pearl and diamond processing, and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Skillfully cut and shape pearls and gemstones for production.
• Conduct thorough inspections to assess quality.
• Prepare gemstones for mounting in jewellery designs.
• Follow strict safety and quality guidelines.
• Keep work area clean and properly stocked.
• Participate in quality control processes.
• Work with designers to understand production requirements.
• Assist in training new staff on processes and quality standards.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma
• Diploma in Gemology or related field is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the jewellery manufacturing industry

Technical Skills

• Diamond Grading
• Soldering Skills

Soft Skills

• Creativity
• Communication

Certifications

• Gemology Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with goldsmithing: Knowledge in handling and assembling jewellery components.
• Knowledge of gemstone identification: Proficiency in identifying and grading various gemstones.
