Job Description

The Locomotive Inspector is responsible for ensuring locomotives operate safely and efficiently through regular inspections. This includes identifying issues, conducting repairs, and maintaining thorough inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect locomotives to ensure they are safe and reliable for use.
• Execute routine and preventative maintenance on locomotives.
• Document all inspections and maintenance activities accurately.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement as needed.
• Comply with reporting requirements as per regulatory standards.

Requirements

Education

• Trade qualification in engineering or similar field

Experience

• Experience working with locomotives or other heavy machinery

Technical Skills

• Electrical systems knowledge

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience with electrical and electronic systems: Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems in locomotives.
