Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the integrity and design of various structures, working within a collaborative environment to ensure all requirements are met within project timelines. Your expertise will help shape the future of our city.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing structures, identifying areas for improvement and repair.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed calculations and other documentation.
  • Consult with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored engineering solutions.
  • Assist in budgeting and project management activities.
  • Ensure quality management processes are followed throughout all project phases.
  • Participate in project meetings, presenting findings and insights.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create structural designs.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis
Technical Skills
  • SAP2000
  • ETABS
Soft Skills

  • Time Management
Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

  • Exposure to international projects: Experience working on projects outside of South Africa is an advantage.
