Job Description

Adventure Tours Ltd. is seeking energetic and knowledgeable Tour Guides to lead engaging tours around Johannesburg. As a Tour Guide, you will share insights about local history, culture, and attractions, ensuring that visitors have a memorable experience. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interactive tours while engaging with guests throughout the journey.
  • Present interesting facts and anecdotes about attractions visited.
  • Ensure a streamlined experience, managing timing and guest interactions.
  • Support guests with any special needs or requests during the tour.
  • Collect feedback post-tour to improve future experiences.
  • Promote local businesses and attractions as part of the tour.
  • Prepare and maintain tour equipment and vehicles as required.
  • Assist in arranging special events or private tours as needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Tourism or related field
  • Higher Education or specialisation in guiding is preferred
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in a guiding role or similar customer-facing position

Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

  • Experience in eco-tourism or cultural tours: Familiarity with sustainable practices in tourism or cultural heritage is a plus.
  • CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is beneficial for guest safety.
