We are in search of a Mechanical Engineer to join our talented team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and implementing mechanical systems and components that meet both client specifications and industry standards. Strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and drawings.
• Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Utilize CAD software for design work and simulations.
• Collaborate in the development of product specifications and testing protocols.
• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies during the design phase.
• Maintain accurate records of engineering activities.
• Train junior engineers and interns on design processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years in mechanical design and development

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

• Team leadership
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with renewable energy systems: Knowledge of solar and wind energy technologies.
