Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will focus on designing and overseeing construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and sustainability practices. You will collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients while adhering to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the integrity of structures throughout their lifecycle and propose maintenance solutions.
• Ensure all engineering practices adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Work closely with safety engineers to develop safety protocols for construction sites.
• Conduct risk assessments and produce mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and engineering software relevant to structural design.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Concrete and Steel Design Codes
• Geotechnical Engineering Principles

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Effective Communication

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer
• LEED Accreditation

Languages

• Afrikaans: Conversational
• English: Fluent
