Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Chemical Engineer to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will design and develop chemical processes, contribute to innovative projects, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in chemical engineering principles and a creative approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise standard operating procedures for chemical processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders for material procurement.
• Monitor environmental impact and enforce sustainable practices.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct feasibility studies for potential process modifications.
• Guide project teams through process validation phases.
• Support efforts in securing regulatory approvals for chemical products.
• Maintain communication with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Engage with community and stakeholders regarding environmental initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) status is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in chemical process engineering

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles: Knowledge of Lean methodologies to optimize chemical manufacturing processes.
