Job Description

The Steam Plant Control Room Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the steam plant control systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and experience managing operational processes in a steam plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the steam plant equipment, including boilers and generators.
  • Monitor steam production to ensure optimal efficiency while adhering to environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues on plant machinery.
  • Document all operational activities for compliance and operational reviews.
  • Participate in safety drills and contribute to a culture of safety.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate
  • National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Steam Boiler Attendant Certificate
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a steam plant control room operator role.
