Job Description

As a Seam Steamer, you will play a vital role in our production team by operating steam machines to remove wrinkles and ensure garments meet quality standards. We seek candidates with a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities

• Effectively operate and adjust steam machines to complete the finishing process.
• Ensure timely steaming of garments to meet production schedules.
• Conduct quality checks to confirm the absence of creases post-finishing.
• Report maintenance needs of steam machines to supervisors.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines.
• Keep the workspace tidy and adhere to best practice standards.
• Assist in the on-the-job training of new staff as required.
• Document daily production output and any anomalies.
• Collaborate with the sewing team for optimal garment handling.
• Be flexible to perform additional tasks as instructed by management.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Steam machine operation
• Inspection skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
