Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Port Elizabeth team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and analysis, with a proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development for new mechanical technologies.
• Provide technical support to production teams.
• Implement best practices in mechanical engineering processes.
• Monitor project progress and report on milestones.
• Foster relationships with suppliers and equipment manufacturers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in design

Technical Skills

• Prototyping
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

• Understanding of industrial safety standards: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and engineering safety practices.
