Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our Durban office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and consulting, able to deliver practical and sustainable solutions to improve environmental performance for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough environmental assessments in line with local legislation.
• Prepare and review environmental management plans for projects.
• Provide expert advice on environmental sustainability issues.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental considerations.
• Engage in public consultations and community outreach.
• Monitor project compliance and report on environmental performance.
• Research and stay informed about new sustainability technologies.
• Mentor junior staff and interns in environmental consulting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Management are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a proven track record

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
• Regulatory Compliance

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience in ecological restoration projects: Practical experience in restoring natural habitats and ecosystems.
• Familiarity with climate change adaptation strategies: Knowledge of approaches to mitigate climate change impacts.
