Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter in Durban, you will be key in evaluating risk and determining the appropriate coverage for clients. You will analyse application information, work closely with agents, and make important decisions that ensure our company remains profitable while meeting client needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client applications and assess their suitability for insurance coverage.
• Collaborate with the underwriting team to develop competitive policies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and legal regulations.
• Review claims and provide input on potential disputes or adjustments.
• Present underwriting decisions to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field
• Professional insurance qualifications are a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting
