Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter at Insurance Solutions Ltd., you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting insurance applications in a fast-paced environment in Durban. The role requires a fine balance between risk assessment and customer service, ensuring all clients receive the best possible coverage tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of underwriting processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Work with actuaries to develop pricing strategies that reflect the risk associated with new policies.
• Provide recommendations for policy changes based on emerging market trends.
• Train and mentor junior underwriting staff.
• Prepare reports on underwriting performance metrics for management review.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Insurance
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar underwriting role

• Data Analysis

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa

Languages

• English: Fluent
