Accountant

Job Description

As our new Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of accounting activities including processing transactions, preparing monthly financial reports, and assisting with tax compliance. We seek a proactive individual who can adapt in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely closing of monthly accounts.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Provide financial insights to improve operational effectiveness.
• Assist in the development of financial strategy and risk management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 4-6 years in financial or accounting position, preferably in a corporate environment

• Budgeting and Forecasting

Certifications

• Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
• Management Accounting Certification (CMA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of financial regulations: Deep understanding of South African accounting standards and regulations.
• Project Management experience: Knowledge of managing projects and financial forecasting.
