Job Description
We are on the lookout for a dedicated Plant Operations Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in Johannesburg. This role requires an individual who is passionate about ensuring seamless operations and driving continuous improvement within our production processes. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day plant operations, oversee staff performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Monitor staff performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • Identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and upkeep.
  • Analyze production metrics and report findings to upper management.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss performance and address challenges.
  • Assist in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Engage with suppliers and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and empowerment within the team.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Diploma in Production Management is an advantage
  • Operational Management Proficient in managing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Health and Safety Compliance In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations in manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles Knowledge of lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Leadership Strong leadership capability to inspire and manage teams.
  • Problem-solving Excellent problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • English (Fluent)
  • Afrikaans (Basic)
Advantageous
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt: Certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
  • Collaboration skills with cross-functional teams: Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
