Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with students who have emotional and behavioral disorders, implementing individualized education plans that foster academic and social success.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of students with emotional disorders.
  • Develop and implement personalized education plans with measurable goals.
  • Offer academic, emotional, and psychological support to students.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including psychologists and therapists.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress and adapt educational strategies.
  • Introduce behaviour management and intervention programs tailored to individual students.
  • Create a welcoming classroom environment that fosters learning.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation regarding student development and behaviour.
  • Engage with ongoing training to learn new methods in special education.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or similar field
  • Additional qualifications in emotional and behavioral disorders are a plus.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a teaching environment focusing on emotional disabilities.
Technical Skills
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Use of learning management systems

Certifications
  • Behaviour Management Training Certificate
Languages
  • English: Fluent
