Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Wildlife Veterinarian to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wildlife rehabilitation and possess the skills necessary to provide medical care to various species in a conservation setting. Responsibilities include diagnosing illnesses, administering treatment, and conducting surgeries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead health check-ups and develop preventive care protocols.
  • Participate in fieldwork to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and NGOs for wildlife policies.
  • Conduct research on wildlife diseases affecting local species.
  • Evaluate and improve rehabilitation techniques and outcomes.
  • Educate staff and volunteers on best practices in wildlife care.
  • Prepare reports on wildlife health statistics for stakeholders.
  • Engage in community workshops to raise awareness about wildlife protection.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Wildlife Conservation is an advantage
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in wildlife veterinary care.
