Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of risk assessment and the underwriting process. You will evaluate insurance applications, determine coverage options, and negotiate terms to provide the best solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of policy applications and underwriting guidelines.
• Provide recommendations for risk improvements and safety measures.
• Develop and maintain metrics for underwriting effectiveness.
• Assist senior management in underwriting strategy development.
• Engage with clients to align on expectations and requirements.
• Provide insights into market trends and competitive analysis.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Prepare presentations for clients or internal stakeholders on underwriting practices.
• Ensure timely responses to underwriting queries and applications.
• Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or Insurance
• Professional certifications preferred (e.g., AAI, ARM)

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience
