Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Public Health Officer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. As a Public Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in implementing health programs and policies that positively impact the local community. You will conduct health assessments, develop educational materials, and facilitate health outreach initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Implement public health programs in accordance with local policies.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for community members.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
• Create educational materials and resources for the public.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver services.
• Act as a liaison between the community and healthcare services.
• Monitor health trends and respond to emerging health issues.
• Promote healthy behaviours through public outreach.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role is preferred

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
