Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced Insurance Underwriter who will assess insurance applications and assess risk. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and familiar with underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review client applications and financial statements.
• Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with applications.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline the underwriting process.
• Generate reports detailing underwriting performance and outcomes.
• Assist in developing underwriting strategies for new products.
• Evaluate claims history to inform underwriting decisions.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss case studies and share insights.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Relevant honors or postgraduate degree is preferable

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry

• Insurance Regulations

• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• AIU (Associate in Underwriting)
• CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in CRM software: Experience with Customer Relationship Management tools for client interaction.
• Understanding of underwriting software: Experience using underwriting platforms and tools.
