Job Description

As a Signal and Track Switch Repairer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of train control systems. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting track switch mechanisms and signal equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular tests and inspections of train control systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to train signals and switch mechanisms.
  • Document maintenance and repair work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the installation of new train control technologies.
  • Engage in continuous training and adhere to best practices in rail safety.
  • Participate in project teams for system upgrades or new implementations.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in train control systems maintenance or related field.
Technical Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the railway industry
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Good organizational and time management skills
Certifications
  • Relevant certifications in train control systems (e.g., ETCS Level 2)
Languages
