Job Description

As a Hydroelectric Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydroelectric power plants. This role entails ensuring maximum power output while upholding equipment integrity, adhering to safety standards, and improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the hydroelectric power station.
• Ensure maximum power output while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical components.
• Assist with the training of new staff in operational procedures.
• Implement preventative maintenance measures to enhance system performance.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize operational efficiency.
• Evaluate performance metrics and suggest improvements.
• Engage in continuous learning about the hydroelectric industry.
• Document and report on operational performance and maintenance activities.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the plant.

Requirements

Education

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred

Experience

• Experience in the maintenance and repair of hydroelectric power generation equipment
