SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team in Cape Town. As a Penetration Tester, you will conduct tests to identify vulnerabilities within client systems, applications, and networks. You will utilize a range of penetration testing tools and methodologies to simulate attacks and assess security measures, ensuring vulnerabilities are addressed efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and analyze incidents to determine appropriate actions.
• Conduct investigations into security breaches and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present regular reports on security incidents and trends.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to improve overall security practices.
• Maintain and configure security monitoring tools.
• Participate in incident response drills and real incidents.
• Research new threats and vulnerabilities in security technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or equivalent.

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC environments

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python: Experience in automating processes and tasks using Python.
