Highway Maintenance Worker

Job Description

As a Braider Operator, you will be responsible for operating braiding machines and producing braided products such as hoses, wires, and cables. You will utilize your understanding of the braiding process and troubleshooting skills to maintain and optimize machine performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
• Place and remove traffic control devices as required.
• Use radios or hand signals to communicate with on-site crew.
• Adjust traffic signals to accommodate changing conditions.
• Document and report any incidents occurring at the site.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist in other construction activities as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Flagger or similar role.

Technical Skills

• Traffic Control Procedures
• Signaling

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Certified Flagger certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in construction: Previous experience within the construction industry is highly advantageous.
• First Aid Certification: Basic knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR.
