We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures to ensure safety and durability. You will work closely with architects and construction teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement structural design solutions that are innovative and practical.
• Conduct risk assessments and feasibility studies for various projects.
• Communicate design concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors throughout the construction process.
• Utilize software tools for modeling and structural analysis.
• Prepare progress reports and documentation for project management.
• Ensure quality control measures are upheld during all phases of the project.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years in the structural engineering sector, with project management experience.

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) designation
• Construction Health and Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with seismic design: Knowledge of seismic design principles and regulations.
• AutoCAD certification: Certification in AutoCAD for structural drawing and design.
