Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Officer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will work closely with community leaders and health professionals to develop and implement health programs that address public health issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning for public health programs.
• Evaluate current public health policies and practices.
• Facilitate community workshops to foster health education.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance community services.
• Support crisis management efforts in public health emergencies.
• Report on community health statistics and program progress.
• Work on grant proposals to secure funding for health initiatives.
• Advocate for health equity and access to services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Social Science
• Master's degree in Public Health or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in public health policy or management

• Public Health Policy
• Statistical Analysis

Certifications

• Certified Public Health (CPH)
• Project Management Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in health promotion campaigns: Demonstrated success in creating effective health campaigns.
• Bilingual skills (English and Afrikaans): Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
