Process Safety Manager

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Process Safety Manager to oversee safety performance and compliance within our chemical engineering division in Richards Bay. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in process safety management and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of safety and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage process hazards analysis and ensure safety integrity levels (SIL) are met.
• Oversee the implementation of process safety solutions.
• Coordinate safety meetings and provide updates to management.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations.
• Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and systems.
• Work closely with external regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of safety processes.
• Advise on design modifications to improve safety.
• Facilitate safety culture initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in the chemical industry

• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent
