Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to lead our projects in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural analysis, design, and project management. You will be responsible for designing and overseeing construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the structural design process from concept through to completion.
• Resolve technical issues on site and provide solutions as they arise.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates.
• Liaise with clients to maintain project progress and address concerns.
• Implement design changes as necessary and assess their impact on project outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of project progression and documentation.

Requirements

Education

• BEng in Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Revit
• STAAD Pro

Soft Skills

• Team leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience with construction site supervision: Ability to oversee on-site activities effectively.
• Current First Aid Certification: Certification that ensures knowledge of workplace safety protocols.
