We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will assess and evaluate risks associated with insurance applications and work closely with clients to provide tailored insurance solutions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of insurance applications and related documentation.
• Communicate underwriting decisions effectively with stakeholders.
• Implement underwriting guidelines and assess adherence to regulations.
• Develop strategies for managing risk and improving underwriting processes.
• Review and update underwriting manuals and documentation.
• Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting challenges and solutions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in underwriting

• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)
