Job Description

As an Architect in our Cape Town office, you will be instrumental in designing impactful and sustainable architecture. This role requires a combination of creativity, technical skills, and project management abilities as you work closely with clients to bring their visions to life. You will be leading project phases, collaborating with engineers and contractors, and ensuring compliance with local zoning laws.

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts into working designs and manage the design process.
• Evaluate and select materials, finishes, and systems that meet project goals.
• Engage in community outreach to gather input on design concepts.
• Monitor construction sites to ensure design specifications are followed.
• Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets.
• Foster relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Document project progress and maintain detailed project records.
• Advocate for sustainable design practices in all projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
• Master's degree in Architecture or urban design is preferred

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in managing architectural projects

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Leadership Skills
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Professional Architect Registration
• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 3D modelling and rendering: Proficient in producing high-quality 3D renderings for design presentations.
• Knowledge of local zoning laws: Understanding of the regulatory environment affecting architectural projects.
