Job Description

As a Mental Health Therapist at our Cape Town location, you will provide therapeutic support to individuals facing various mental health challenges. Your role will involve creating personalized treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial consultations and ongoing assessments for clients.
• Utilize therapy modalities suited to client needs.
• Document treatment processes and client interactions thoroughly.
• Act as a liaison between clients and external support resources.
• Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system.

Requirements

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Additional certifications in specific therapeutic techniques preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience with diverse populations

Technical Skills

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Soft Skills

• Crisis Management
• Cultural Competence

Certifications

• Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
• Advanced DBT Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with teletherapy platforms: Skilled in conducting therapy via online platforms.
• Understanding of mental health legislation in South Africa: Knowledge of local laws and regulations pertaining to mental health.
