Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer with a solid background in process engineering to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of chemical processes to improve production efficiency and ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments on chemical processes to evaluate performance.
• Assist in the scale-up of processes from laboratory to production.
• Monitor process performance and implement control measures.
• Review and analyze reports on production performance.
• Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Support safety audits and risk assessments of processes.
• Work on cost-reduction initiatives through process improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification is a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role in chemical manufacturing

Certifications

• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
• Certified Chemical Engineer (CCE)

Languages

• English: Fluent
