Join our Pretoria team as an Insurance Underwriter, where you will evaluate and assess risks associated with individual policies. Responsibilities

• Assess the adequacy of risk management practices and procedures.
• Ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards.
• Manage client portfolios and provide guidance on insurance policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the underwriting team.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives by providing technical underwriting support.
• Participate in underwriting training for junior underwriters.
• Analyze loss statistics to inform policy adjustments and pricing models.
• Advise on coverage amounts and endorsements based on assessments.
• Engage in reinsurance negotiations to minimize risk.
• Meet regularly with clients to discuss coverage options and risk management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Insurance qualifications such as NQF Level 5 are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or relevant financial services roles
