Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our growing team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions for environmental challenges, focusing on sustainable practices and compliance with regulations. You will work alongside other professionals to assess environmental impacts, conduct site assessments, and implement projects that promote sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Assess and mitigate environmental risks for diverse projects.
• Develop compliance strategies in line with local regulations.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to authorities.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff and stakeholders.
• Implement sustainability initiatives within projects.
• Support the development of policies and procedures for environmental management.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure best practices are followed.
• Monitor project performance and environmental outcomes.
• Review proposals and designs for environmental implications.
• Participate in community outreach programs related to environmental protection.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemistry
• Master's degree in Environmental Science is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the environmental sector

Certifications

• Green Building Certification is advantageous
• Registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa)
