Job Description

As a Catheterization Laboratory Technician, you'll assist in cardiac catheterization procedures, manage equipment, and provide vital support to patients and healthcare professionals. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients emotionally and physically for catheterization.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before procedures.
• Help in post-procedure recovery and provide patient education.
• Conduct regular checks on patient treatment areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the catheterization lab.
• Educate patients about procedures and answer any questions.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss protocols and improvements.
• Support quality assurance activities by maintaining high standards.
• Assist in the training of new staff and students.
• Document all procedures and interactions with patients thoroughly.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized Catheterization Laboratory Technician program
• Relevant certifications in cardiac care

Experience

• At least 2 years in a cardiac care setting

Technical Skills

• ECG Interpretation
• IV Therapy

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Cardiovascular Technology Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in a cardiac care unit: Previous work in a cardiac care unit can provide beneficial experience.
