Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining coverage limits and premiums. You will work closely with clients and agents to ensure that insurance policies are tailored to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for various entities including individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with South African tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in tax planning and strategy development.
• Provide clients with tax advisory services and guidance.
• Conduct tax research and keep up to date with legislative changes.
• Prepare tax provisions and forecasts for financial statements.
• Assist in the resolution of tax audits and inquiries.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Master's degree or relevant certification preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in tax preparation and consulting

Technical Skills

• VAT Compliance
• Tax Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification
• Certified Tax Advisor (CTA) is an asset

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of international tax regulations: Understanding of tax regulations applicable to international clients.
• Experience with tax advisory roles: Prior experience working in tax advisory capacities is preferred.
