Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining coverage limits and premiums. You will work closely with clients and agents to ensure that insurance policies are tailored to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret new tax regulations.
• Prepare detailed tax reports for internal and external purposes.
• Engage in tax planning sessions with clients to determine optimal tax structures.
• Interact with revenue authorities on behalf of clients during audits.
• Document tax positions and establish compliance measures.
• Attend seminars and workshops to increase tax expertise.
• Build relationships with clients to understand their business needs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Master's degree or relevant certification preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in tax preparation and consulting

Technical Skills

• VAT Compliance
• Tax Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification
• Certified Tax Advisor (CTA) is an asset

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with tax compliance software: Familiarity with accounting software such as Pastel or SAP.
• Prior experience in corporate tax consulting: Experience in dealing with corporate clients for tax matters is preferred.
