Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Welfare Worker to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing the needs of vulnerable children and their families, providing support, and facilitating access to essential services. Your work will directly impact the welfare of children in challenging circumstances. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and a passion for advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document the needs of at-risk children and families.
  • Collaborate with fellow social workers and community agencies.
  • Assist families in navigating the social services system.
  • Engage with children in a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Monitor ongoing cases and adjust service plans as necessary.
  • Provide education on child development and parenting skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications are a plus
