We’re seeking a qualified Veterinarian to join our busy clinic in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for animal care, delivering high-quality treatment to a variety of species. Responsibilities will involve conducting examinations, diagnosing conditions, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on health management and wellness.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical evaluations and diagnostics.
• Utilize appropriate treatment plans for each case.
• Manage emergency and urgent care situations effectively.
• Develop and implement preventive health programs.
• Document patient treatment and care plans effectively.
• Train and mentor junior staff members.
• Attend and actively engage in staff meetings.
• Ensure protocols for sanitation and safety are followed.
• Keep up with new products, procedures, and veterinary care techniques.
• Engage with clients to build long-term relationships.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Experience

• 5 years of experience in veterinary practice, preferable in mixed practice

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
