Ophthalmic Medical Technologist

Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-rays and other imaging equipment to examine blood vessels and identify blockages. You will collaborate closely with physicians to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct imaging sessions, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Analyze images and provide timely diagnostic information to physicians.
• Ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and operational.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient care.
• Document all imaging procedures accurately in patient records.
• Enhance patient relations through effective communication.
• Train and support new technologists and interns in imaging processes.
• Engage in professional development to keep skills current.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to imaging practices.
• Participate in departmental meetings and provide input on protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology
• Certification in Vascular Sonography preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a clinical imaging environment.

Technical Skills

• Imaging Software Proficiency
• Radiation Safety Knowledge

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
