Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring we remain on the path of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Enhance existing financial processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with department heads to create and review budget proposals.
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential financial pitfalls.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, promoting professional development.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Finance or Accounting

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role

Technical Skills

• Taxation Knowledge
• Risk Management

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Risk Management Certification (RMC)
• CIMA Certification advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in cost accounting: Knowledge of cost accounting methods and principles.
• Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS): Understanding of IFRS will be an advantage.
