Public Health Specialist

Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, your primary role will be to conduct assessments, develop community outreach programs, and evaluate health interventions aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and analyse data to identify public health needs.
• Work closely with public health officials to implement policy changes.
• Facilitate workshops and seminars to educate the community about health issues.
• Foster partnerships with local institutions to strengthen public health programs.
• Advocate for health equity and access to resources in underserved communities.
• Evaluate external funding opportunities and assist in grant writing for public health projects.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Public Health
• Specialization in community health is advantageous

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in program management or public health

• Statistical Analysis

Certifications

• Certified Public Health Professional (CPHP)
• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Fluent
