Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will monitor and defend our networks and systems against potential threats while ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents in real-time.
• Conduct routine security assessments and penetration testing.
• Review system configurations and recommend security enhancements.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into projects.
• Prepare and present security reports and risk assessments to management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Assurance preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a cybersecurity role focused on threat analysis

Technical Skills

• Firewalls and VPNs
• Cloud Security

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with SIEM tools: Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management tools to analyze security alerts.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001 standard: Understanding of information security management principles based on the ISO framework.
