Responsibilities

• Research emerging fashion trends to inspire your designs.
• Develop sketches and design prototypes for review and feedback.
• Work closely with other designers and stakeholders to ensure alignment on brand vision.
• Oversee the production process, including fittings and adjustments.
• Stay updated on industry changes and innovations to keep designs fresh.
• Participate in promotional events and fashion shows to showcase collections.
• Engage with customers to understand their styles and preferences.
• Analyze sales data to inform future design decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• Master's degree in Fashion or Design Management is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the fashion industry

Technical Skills

• Pattern making
• Sewing techniques

Soft Skills

• Project management
• Communication

Certifications

• Fashion Merchandising Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local textiles: Understanding of South African textiles and their applications in design.
• Fashion show experience: Experience in showcasing designs at fashion shows or events.
