Job Description

As a Food Server with Johannesburg Dining Group, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food and beverages while maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and guide them through the menu options.
  • Effectively manage the dining area to ensure all guests receive prompt attention.
  • Prepare tables for new customers, ensuring all utensils and condiments are in place.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve any dining issues.
  • Participate in restaurant meetings to improve service and share feedback.
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Assist in training new staff on service standards and restaurant protocols.
  • Accounting for stock and supplies used during shifts and reporting shortages.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay updated on restaurant specials and promotional offers.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) is preferred
Experience
  • Prior experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with wine and beverage service
  • Knowledge of different cuisines
Soft Skills

  • Team collaboration
