Telecommunications Line Installer and Repairer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for skilled Telecommunications Line Installers and Repairers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of telecommunication lines and equipment, ensuring uninterrupted communication services for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of all telecommunications equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of tools and replacement parts.
• Execute installation projects for new lines and equipment.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines.
• Implement new technologies that improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Educate clients on proper maintenance of installed systems.
• Conduct safety audits and improve operational safety standards.
• Assist in developing training programs for junior technicians.
• Participate in emergency response teams when required for urgent repairs.
• Liaise with suppliers for necessary parts and equipment procurement.

Requirements

Education

• Matric
• National Diploma in Telecommunications or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in telecommunications installation and repair

Technical Skills

• Telecommunications Protocols

Certifications

• Advanced Telecommunications Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Certification in First Aid: Basic first aid certifications are considered an advantage.
