Job Description

The Clearing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clearing process for our clients. This role involves managing a team of clearing agents to ensure all shipments are cleared efficiently and in compliance with legal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and manage clearing agents while ensuring adherence to legal standards.
  • Oversee clearance processes for imports and exports.
  • Coordinate with transport providers to secure timely shipment releases.
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates on clearance progress.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and ensure timely filing with customs authorities.
  • Utilize tracking software to monitor shipments and resolve issues proactively.
  • Evaluate performance metrics and set goals for the clearing team.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and relay necessary information to the team.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.
