Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will deliver quality medical care for a variety of animals, utilise state-of-the-art equipment, and collaborate with experienced staff to enhance animal health.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team of veterinarians to provide exceptional care.
• Guide and mentor junior veterinary staff and interns.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Assist with case consultations and complex surgeries.
• Monitor animal recovery and provide recovery plans.
• Champion animal welfare and ethics in all practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Specialisation in small animal surgery preferred

Experience

• 3 years of experience in a similar veterinary role

Technical Skills

• Anaesthesia management
• Emergency veterinary care

Soft Skills

• Team leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• ANZCVS Membership (Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists)
• VetLife Membership

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with alternative therapies: Experience with holistic and alternative treatments for animals.
