Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our skilled team based in Johannesburg. You will play a pivotal role in designing and developing robust mechanical systems and components for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs from concept through to production.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility.
• Analyze project requirements and design constraints.
• Test and validate designs under varying conditions and environments.
• Provide modifications and updates based on testing feedback.
• Create 3D models and simulations to visualize designs.
• Document design processes and present findings to senior leadership.
• Participate in quality assurance processes and inspections.
• Maintain a safe working environment in adherence to regulations.
• Mentor junior staff and assist in their professional development.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer

Technical Skills

• Inventor
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Design for Manufacturing

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Professional Engineer (CPE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 3D printing technologies: Understanding and application of 3D printing in prototyping.
