Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are on the hunt for a talented Tax Specialist to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance and providing strategic tax advisory services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African tax laws and regulations, coupled with experience in tax planning and strategy formulation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax filings and ensure adherence to deadlines and regulations.
• Advise clients on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Prepare tax returns and documentation for various clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and implement strategies.
• Collaborate with financial teams to ensure accurate tax calculations.
• Manage and organize tax records and documentation.
• Support clients during tax audits and inquiries.
• Develop and deliver client presentations on tax matters.
• Conduct research on various tax-related issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant tax experience

Technical Skills

• VAT and Corporate Tax
• Corporate Tax Compliance
• Excel Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Client Management

Certifications

• Tax Practitioner Registration
• CA(SA) or equivalent is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Transfer Pricing: Experience with cross-border tax issues and transfer pricing regulations.
• ISA Experience: Experience with international tax compliance and reporting standards.
