Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are on the hunt for a talented Tax Specialist to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance and providing strategic tax advisory services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African tax laws and regulations, coupled with experience in tax planning and strategy formulation.

Responsibilities

• Manage full tax compliance for clients, including timely submissions of returns.
• Provide expert advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Conduct tax audits and manage documentation preparation.
• Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and implement necessary changes.
• Assist clients in tax dispute resolutions with SARS.
• Prepare and review financial statements for tax compliance.
• Liaise with auditors and other representatives concerning tax matters.
• Train and support junior staff in tax compliance and reporting.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships.
• Assist in the development of new tax services and offerings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant tax experience

Technical Skills

• VAT and Corporate Tax
• Corporate Tax Compliance
• Excel Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Client Management

Certifications

• Tax Practitioner Registration
• CA(SA) or equivalent is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
