Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are on the hunt for a talented Tax Specialist to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance and providing strategic tax advisory services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African tax laws and regulations, coupled with experience in tax planning and strategy formulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax planning sessions and advise on tax-efficient structures.
• Review tax provisions in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and their implications for the business.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors to enhance service offerings.
• Provide training sessions on tax-related issues to staff and clients.
• Manage client expectations and provide exceptional service.
• Evaluate and improve current tax compliance processes.
• Support strategies for international tax compliance.
• Encourage best practices in tax compliance within the firm.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant tax experience

Technical Skills

• VAT and Corporate Tax
• Corporate Tax Compliance
• Excel Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Client Management

Certifications

• Tax Practitioner Registration
• CA(SA) or equivalent is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Transfer Pricing: Experience with cross-border tax issues and transfer pricing regulations.
• ISA Experience: Experience with international tax compliance and reporting standards.
