We are on the hunt for an experienced Underwriter to join our Durban team. In this role, you will assess risk, determine policy terms, and ensure that our underwriting process supports both client needs and company standards.
Responsibilities
Review and process renewal applications, ensuring continued compliance.
Conduct risk assessments using statistical techniques.
Ensure effective communication of underwriting decisions to stakeholders.
Prepare reports on underwriting performance and trends.
Mentor and guide junior underwriters in risk analysis.
Implement quality assurance measures in the underwriting process.
Attend industry seminars and workshops to enhance knowledge.
Work closely with the claims department to understand loss trends.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Insurance or related field
Master's degree preferred
Experience
5+ years of experience in underwriting, particularly in property and casualty insurance
